The waiters at the pizza place singing Happy Birthday to Tim in Portuguese...Rosalie made sure that he wasn't forgotten! Throughout the day, she had us sing to him every 10 minutes or so....I think Tim was glad the guys went rafting and the girls shopping that day! :)
The 'singing' sand at the farm (the place was called Areia que Canta...translated, Sand that sings)....apparently, the grain is just small enough that, when enough water is drained out of it, it makes a peculiar noise when rubbed together in your hands. Behind the guide, you can see some of our group in the water. You weren't supposed to walk directly on the sand at all, but rather float. It was harder than I thought!
