Griffin Meets the World!

We are so thankful that little Griffin Edward Beutel came into the world safely last Thursday night.  He just barely made it in time to be his Aunt Katy's birthday buddy...May 16th is a great birthday! :)  Here are pictures from his first 24 hours or so of life:

A very tired momma and a very bruised Griffin...apparently I pushed him out pretty fast.

Our biggest baby!  (I think Tirzah was next at 7 lbs. 15 oz.)

Hanging onto Daddy's finger

Since he was born at 11:27, we didn't get into our regular hospital room until around 1:30...it was a short night!

Our first visitor was Grandpa Beutel...the early bird gets the first picture with Griffin! :)

Next was Grandma Rassi...

and then Grandma Beutel, Aunt Katy, and three VERY EXCITED big siblings!  Tirzah was saying, "Baby Griffin" the whole way as Greg brought her to our room. :)

Max got to hold him first...his reaction was just priceless.

No need to tell Max to smile this time!  It was the biggest, most real smile I've ever seen him have in a picture. :)

Max is pretty excited his little brother is finally here.

The girls were anxiously awaiting their turn to hold him, but Tirzah had to forfeit hers when she refused to let anyone help her.  Pretty typical 2 year old, I guess!

Nora was quite smitten as well, and did an awesome job holding him very gently.

I think she's going to be my little helper!

Family of 6!  Kind of unreal!

Tirzah just can't get enough of Griffin...she loves to touch his head and giggle in his face.

I know the jealousy will probably come, but I'm pretty happy with how much she loves him!

Birthday buddies!

Brian and Trish came up that afternoon, and Trish got to be the first person to get a picture with Griffin with his eyes open.

There they are!

A very delighted Aunt Stephie came late that afternoon to visit, as well.

Daddy loves his little boy!

Baby feet are just so cute...I especially love all the wrinkles. :)

In the evening, Grandpa and Grandma Rassi came to see us...

...as did Janelle, who said that Londyn was VERY upset she couldn't come visit Griffin at the hospital!

They are just too cute...I took a lot of pictures of the two boys. :)

Greg got me this sweet vase and roses, as well as a neat Vera Bradley bag full of goodies...he's pretty awesome! :) (And not just because he bought me presents!)

Love that spiky hair!

All buckled in on Saturday morning and ready to head for home, with a few stops on the way.

First up, Dad and Mom Rassi's house so that Griffin can meet Uncle Caleb.

As a bonus, he even got to meet (Great) Aunt Karen! :)

The twin grandmas

We even woke up Uncle Phil (who got in pretty late the night before) so Griffin could say hi (and so we could tell him that hey, we were awake at 2:00 AM, too).

Our last stop before home was Dad and Mom Beutel's house to pick up the rest of the kids.  Once again, Tirzah just loved to love on Griffin.

What a good big sister!

Sweet Nora.

Last picture is one that we should have gotten in the hospital, but it was a little crazy with all of the kids there...but Grandma Beutel did get to snuggle Griffin for a bit.  And thanks to her, Dad, and Katy for keeping the three big kids while we were at the hospital!

Perfect timing...now it sounds like I have a baby who needs some attention! :)
