News!

As most all of you now know....Mary and I are expecting our first child in April! We are very excited at the prospect of being parents. Its kinda a weird thought! We are dealing with the usual symptoms of tiredness and nausea. All in all we feel pretty blessed that she hasn't had the worst symptoms. You sure hear some horror stories! We still are on the go quite a bit, but Mary usually finds time for a nap each day. Its really quite amazing to believe that there is a small child living within Mary. God is truly amazing!

In other news...Sept 28/29th was the Rassi family campout. We had chili cooked over the fire and served in bread bowls. Since we ate after sun had gone behind the buildings it was pleaseant enough to eat such a hot meal. After supper we conducted a treasure hunt with the nieces and nephews. After sitting around the fire and enjoying good company we turned into our tent. With the aid of a queen sized air mattress and a few sleeping bags, we slept quite well. We started Saturday morning with eggs, bacon, potatoes, sweet rolls, and orange frappe (or orange throppe according to Grace :D) . After eating such a big breakfast we played some basketball to help it settle a bit. Then we did the treasure hunt again (the teams switched clue colors so that everybody got to do a new treasure hunt). For lunch we had delicious steaks, loaded baked potatoes, rolls, and other side dishes. Also, John and I experimented with making onion rings. It was quite fun and I think we just may do them again next year.

I can't really remember what we did last week. Thursday night we had Grandpa and Grandma Beutel out for supper. We wanted them to see the couch we had bought with their wedding gift. We tried some new food, some was good, some was interesting! They didn't complain thankfully! On Friday we had the Beutel Cousin Campout. It was very poorly attended. But we brought Dad and Mom's pop-up and spent the night. It was enjoyable and got me more excited to use the pop-up next summer. We'll see, I've never traveled with a baby! Saturday we went out-to-eat in Bloomington on our way to Fairbury. Our waiter was quite interesting. When we told him that Mary couldn't have wine because she was pregnant he said something to the effect of, "don't use crack either". He also asked us, "soo like are you on a date or something?" He told us that he wanted a baby but that he would, "probably just make a mess out of it". I don't think he was married. I kinda just wanted to be like, Yeah, we are on a date.....LEAVE US ALONE! Oh well. In the evening we went to testimonies for Mary's cousin in Fairbury. We spent the night with another cousin and went to church in Fairbury on Sunday. Sunday night we spent at the Wagenbach Weiner Roast. It was very hot for an October evening but quite enjoyable.

This week doesn't seem like it will be too busy...but we shall see! Going out to eat with my little bro since Mary works. Ought to be a good time.
