A blessed and busy week-end and weekend!

Coming off of vacation we entered right back into the "real" world!  After a slower first part of the week we had a busy last part of the week!

Thursday night we attended a "send-off" singing for Derek and Leann.  Derek is undergoing treatment for 8 weeks in Indiana.  It was really a night of spiritual strengthening.

Friday night we had potluck at Galen and Betty's house.  As usual we had a terrific food and fellowship!  Never a dull evening for sure!  It was impressed upon me as it often is just how quick life flies by...3 of the children in the potluck group will be heading to kindergarten this fall!  Even little Max is heading to Sunday school this fall!

Saturday came early and started off quickly...over to Mom's to help pick beans, drive to town to bike with Kevin for a little over an hour, back to Mom's to snip beans, out to the field to bale approx 700 small squares!  The work was well rewarded with a dip in the pool and a large medium porterhouse grilled by the finest chef in Tazewell county....dad!

Sunday dawned hot, as promised!  We took a few pictures of the three children and then were off to church.  After a nice day in church we head home to prepare for company in the evening.  We're so thankful to have the cabin to use for a little bit bigger groups from time to time.  We had Landon and Teresa, Chad and Laurie, Tim and Ruth, and Rustin and Sharon....and all of the associated children!  After a dinner of picnicky type food we had a short Heavenly Highway singing and then visited and watch the children run freely outside!  Mary and I remarked when we got home how much we enjoyed the evening and find that hosting company is really something we enjoy doing together.  One reason we enjoy using the cabin so much is that we can prepare the food at home, leave the mess, and then just enjoy the evening at a clean and organized facility.  Dishes can always wait...

Below are various "weekend" pictures!

Our "glads"

My "Two if By Tea"  - Rush Limbaugh might not always be right...but his tea is pretty good!

Perhaps the "best" result of our Sunday morning pictures!

Greg,
I can't believe you bought that tea! Good thing Brett is a tight wad or I am sure he would have bought some too.

Sounds like a fun weekend! By the way, I love the picture of Max, Nora, Bryce, and Joni in front of the fireplace. Have it hanging on our fridge!!
