June 2014

Late spring/early summer is usually when Greg takes all of the kids out for some photo shoots...here are the best of this set:
Max - 6 years old

Nora - 4.5 years old and Tirzah - 3 years old
Love this one of the laughing sisters!

All 4!

There were a lot of good ones of the girls in this round...love it when they cooperate. :)

Twirl!

Not to leave out the boys!

One night Nate and Steph and us were at Tim and Melissa's so Greg got a picture of all of the Dean and Karen Beutel grandkids (this was before Sammy and Gwen!).

Showing their true colors!

Max with his Kindergarten diploma...he did great!
We took advantage of the photo booth at the Merchant's Day and got a cute shot of all four kids at least looking at the camera.

Turkey #1!

Turkey #2!

Turkey #3!  (No  pic of Griffy)

I didn't get many Turkey Festival pictures, but we did ride the Ferris Wheel with the older kids.

My boys!
Max and Nora still liked the dragon coaster...I'm not sure either one rode it this year!

We went out to Lake Wapello on Father's Day weekend so Nate and Greg could run the Lake Wapello Shore to Shore 10K.  They both enjoyed running it and Christy did the 5K.

The kids loved the chance to play in the lake!
Of course, Tirzah said it was too cold! :)  It was a quick trip, but we had a great time.

We went on a short vacation in Indiana with our friends Will and Joanna and Darl and Janelle.  Between the three families we had 11 kids ages 6 and under.  Crazy but fun!!!
What a line up!
Two of the three in the stroller brigade...missing Trevor!

We went down to the lake our last evening together (I know, out of order) to do sparklers and roman candles.  The moms even got to do some! :)

Nora and Kyla were buds that weekend...the girls had to stick together with all those boys around!

Sparklers!

Besides the pool, we also played bags,

enjoyed meals together, (girls table!)

(boys table!)

and enjoyed hearing Will tell us Brer Rabbit tales!  We had a great time with your families, Janelle and Joanna!  We want to do it again!

The last Sunday in June was, as always, the Sunday School picnic.  This year, some of the boys went down to the Tiber Creek and hunted for crawdads.  Max was only too happy to join in!

And then...about 9:00 that night, as we were getting ready to go, Griffin was playing over by the new Veterans memorial in the park and put his hand on one of the big floodlights, burning it pretty badly.  Katy went with me to the ER, where we got some stuff to put on it and wrap it.  Pictures ahead of his blisters, just a warning!

Poor baby.  He screamed for I don't even know how long straight that night.  At the ER, he finally calmed down enough that he fell asleep in my arms.
What it looked like that night before we got in to be seen.  At the ER with a screaming one year old they don't make you wait long, thankfully!

So we had to wrap his hand for a few days, but he was back to his cheerful self before too long!
